About

In the autumn of 2001, a mid-sized church in Destin, Florida, held it’s collective breath and jumped into the deep end of the drama ministry pool. Being a congregation that had only the occasional brush with drama ministry, it was indeed a huge leap of faith to take on the monumental project of presenting an interactive Dinner Theatre.

Handwashing

2nd Acts had its beginnings right then and there, only those of us who were there did not know it at the time. We were just a bunch of novices, doing our best to give our audience an experience they would never forget… to feel the stunning impact that the night of Christ’s birth had on the people who lived it 2000 years ago. It worked, and the community called for more. We would be doing it again, with the likelihood of it being an annual event!

That’s when the dream was born: People from different Churches, all over the area, coming together as a team, carrying out the Gospel. Carrying out the prayer of Christ for His Disciples… that they should be one even as He and the Father are one. Carrying out His prayer for the future church… that through the message of His disciples, the world might believe in Him. That through our message, you may believe!

Itai tells young Lael a story

As writer/director for this enthusiastic band, I have watched in amazement as God has arranged and orchestrated and opened doors for this dream to become reality. I did not know how to begin the process of bringing local talent together for this undertaking, but God did, and enthusiasm for the project spilled into a calling on the hearts of others in the community. These have been exciting, enlightening, successful years and now 2nd Acts is approaching the 10th anniversary presentation of Such a Night as This. We all feel incredibly blessed to be working together, as a unified body. All dedicated to one goal. Bringing the Good News home.

Ariav and his guests at the Inn

The ministry of 2nd Acts is sponsored by Grace Lutheran Church, Destin, Florida… right where it all began. We are an extension of their ministry to the Emerald Coast, and we are thankful for their encouragement and support of every kind—spiritual, emotional, physical, and financial. Without a place and the means to be and do, we would not be able to carry out our commission.

If you have an interest in becoming a part of the 2nd Acts ministry team, we encourage you to Contact Us . It’s a great time to jump in and get to know the family, share your creative ideas, find your niche, and help us get ready to open the Inn doors and greet the community with the love of Christ.
